About
Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Education started its education in 2006-2007 academic year. The Faculty of Education includes Educational Sciences, Special Education Teaching, Turkish and Social Sciences Education, Basic Education and Foreign Languages Education departments and below these departments there are English Language Teaching, Classroom Teaching, Pre-school teaching and Turkish Language Teaching programs. It also provides training with the Pedagogical Formation Certificate in Education. CIU is the first university in Northern Cyprus that started to provide education in the field of special education.
Mission and Vision
The faculty's mission is to train distinguished teachers who adopt universal and social values, and ethical principles of their profession, have scientific thinking and professional skills; who can think critically, question and understand the role of their profession in social development.
The faculty's vision is to become a research and education institution that shapes the education system of the country with the knowledge it produces, contributes to the field of educational sciences, and supports social development with the education services it provides and the teachers it trains.
ACCREDITATIONS
The Departments of Pre-School Education Teaching, English Language Teaching, and Guidance and Psychological Counselling located within the Faculty of Education, are accredited by the Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (EPDAD).
EDUCATION OPPORTUNITES
The courses of the departments of the Faculty of Education take place in classrooms equipped with technological equipment, wide application areas, and strong teaching staff who take care of the students one-on-one. Students can study in a second field with double major and minor program opportunities. The faculty runs master's and doctoral programs for students who aim to pursue an academic career with the collaboration of the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research.
