Academician from CIU selected to the Times Higher Education Research Team

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şevki Kıralp from the Department of Political Science and International Relations of Cyprus International University (CIU), Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was selected for the international academic group that will participate in the Global Academic Reputation Survey created by Times Higher Education, a reputable organization that measures the educational and research impact of universities all over the world.

Times Higher Education, an organization headquartered in London, the capital city of England, measures the quality of research and educational activities of universities around the world. In the list created by Times Higher Education (THE), Academicians from different countries are selected according to their expertise in their field of study and their academic publication performance.

Stating that approximately 0.3% of the academicians around the world are selected to take part in the Global Academic Reputation Survey, Kıralp said, “Academicians who will participate in the survey are experienced, well published scholars who offer their views on excellence in research and teaching within their disciplines and at institutions with which they are familiar. This way, they will contribute to determining the best universities in the world."

Kıralp pointed out that many universities in the country closely follow the international quality standards in higher education, and said, “We produce scientific studies on an international scale in the field of higher education. It is gratifying to see that these studies have reached our colleagues around the world and organizations closely interested in science."

Noting that science is one of the leading common values of humanity, Kıralp expressed his satisfaction in participating in this valuable science project carried out by Times Higher Education both as a Turkish Cypriot and as a CIU member.
