CIU welcomed the new incoming students

Cyprus International University (CIU), Dean of Students Office and the  Social Activities and Clubs Coordination Office held the 2023-2024 Academic Year Fall Semester Student Welcoming and Orientation Days. 

CIU Orientation days, which aim to help students easily adapt to university life and North Cyprus, were sponsored by  GNÇ Cyprus, the youth brand of North Cyprus Turkcell. 

CIU Student Dean Assist. Prof. Dr. Osman Emiroğlu stated that the orientation started with welcoming students to campus which was followed by a campus tour;  the students had the opportunity to  familiarize themselves with the university by attending university promotion seminars, and the Nicosia tour helped them be knowledgeable about their whereabouts. Activities like the color festival, sports competitions and various other events also ensured that the students started the new term fully motivated.

Pointing out that orientation days are traditionally held every year, Emiroğlu said, “Our color festival event is one of the leading fun activities in the program. With this event, we have created a good opportunity for our students to get to know each other, mingle with friends and have fun." 

Emiroğlu also stated that at the student clubs festival organized within the scope of the program, students learned about the clubs and had the chance to become a member of the club they were interested in, and said, "At the event held at Nature Cafe, in addition to having the opportunity to meet club presidents, club board members, student representatives at the stands, they also learned about the events to be organized by the international societies." 

Emiroğlu said during the Clubs Festival, students visited more than 40 clubs and acquired information about their activities; he also added that the student clubs organized events in different categories such as expertise, culture - art – ideology and sports clubs

Emiroğlu explained that they organize a Treasure Hunt event for the new incoming students and stated that students thus have the opportunity to both refresh their general cultural knowledge and learn about the university campus while having fun.
