Industrial visit by CIU Faculty of Communication students

A group of students from Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Communication, accompanied by faculty members Assist. Prof. Dr. Bahar Taşeli, Assist. Prof. Dr. Galip Erzat Erdil and Dr. Ece Kahraman Bulut paid a visit to Tanman Advertising Agency.

In the event, which was jointly organized by the Departments of Public Relations and Advertising and Visual Communication Design, students had the opportunity to closely examine the works carried out at the Tanman Advertising Agency’s workshop.

Taşeli, Chair of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, stated that they attach importance to such visits to introduce the industry to the students and to provide them with the opportunity to meet with the sectoral representatives, and said that thanks to such events, the students have the chance to evaluate their theoretical and practical knowledge in an integrated manner and to observe closely the work carried out in the industry. Taşeli also shared the information that they will continue to organize such events that offer students the opportunity to get to know professional life.

During the visit, Tanman Advertising Digital Production Director Ikenna Emmanuel Nwachukwu made a presentation to the students explaining advertising, graphic design and production processes and the operating system in the workshop. 

After giving information about the devices and technology they use, Nwachukwu answered the the students’ questions.

Tanman Advertising Agency Director Hüseyin Tanman said that advertising in the country is still a developing industry and emphasized the importance of learning not only design but also the production processes.

Tanman pointed out that students need to know the sector and experience the technology used in the field before graduation, and pointed out the importance of promotional visits which will lead them follow a successful career path after graduation.

Tanman also stated that, as a company, they are ready to contribute to students' internship opportunities, and advised students to use their summer periods productively to experience professional environments and gain work discipline.
