At the ceremony held in the conference hall of CIU Çevik Uraz Center, TRNC Minister of Health Dinçyürek, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri and CIU Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Kaan Erler delivered speeches.

In his speech at the ceremony, Minister of Health Dinçyürek addressed the students and advised them, " during the first 6 years, add as much knowledge as you can to what you have already acquired." Dinçyürek pointed out that the white coat, one of the important symbols of the profession, does not only express cleanliness but it is also an indicator of professional ethics and morals.

In his speech, Dinçyürek reminded the students that they may succeed in their classes and get their diplomas, but that those who do not love people cannot and should not become doctors, and said, “Those who do not love people can never become doctors. Therefore, first and foremost, you should be affectionate toward people. By using correct communication skills, you should take care of each patient as if you were taking care of your own family member, and without compromising one of the most fundamental rights of every patient which is the right to be informed.”

In his speech, Rector Nadiri noted that CIU has been at the service of higher education for 26 years and is one of the leading higher education institutions in the region. CIU has gained an important role in recent years with its investments in health education.

Pointing out that CIU Faculty of Medicine is included in the "World Medical Faculties Guide", which lists reputable educational institutions around the world in the field of medical education, Nadiri said, "We are pleased to share with you that the approval has recently been received for the basic medical sciences doctoral programs in four fields to be carried out within our Faculty of Medicine.”
