Faculty of Law
About
The Faculty of Law at the International Cyprus University (CIU) is committed to providing education at international standards. Established in the 2010-2011 Academic Year, the Faculty comprises two programs: Law (Turkish) and Law (English). As a member of the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA), the Faculty aims to provide students with a curriculum that spans both national and international legal systems, equipping them with comprehensive legal knowledge. The academic staff consists of distinguished experts in their respective fields. Offering education in Turkish and English, the Faculty provides students with the opportunity for multilingual legal education. It also features unique opportunities such as virtual court applications, law clinics—the only one of its kind in Northern Cyprus—and Drama and Law Workshops, allowing students to transform theoretical knowledge into practice. Graduates enjoy broad career opportunities at both national and international levels.
Mission and Vision
The Faculty of Law aims to train legal professionals who believe in the supremacy of law, are strong communicators, responsible, ethical, respectful of diverse views, modern, and socially conscious.
The Faculty aspires to be a reliable, nationally and internationally recognized institution that trains competent legal professionals and contributes significantly to academic studies and legal education.

EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
The Faculty of Law at Cyprus International University (CIU) offers its students modern and well-equipped educational opportunities. The faculty implements a broad curriculum covering international law and national legal systems. Courses are given in Turkish and English by expert academics in their fields. Students are provided with strong support in their research and learning processes thanks to technology-supported course materials and rich library resources. The educational approach, which accommodates participation in the Law Clinic, the Drama and Law Workshop, and Gender Equality studies, is unique in the TRNC, and is supported by virtual court and debate competitions to enable students to gain practical experience.
These activities help students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice, develop their legal arguments and gain professional competence. In addition, these activities, which are carried out with group work and interactive methods, aim to increase students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
At the end of the four-year education, our students have the opportunity to demonstrate their acquired theoretical knowledge and analytical thinking skills by preparing a graduation project. Our students prepare an independent academic study in which they present the legal knowledge, analysis and interpretation skills they acquired during their undergraduate education using scientific methods on a given subject, and presenting this study before a jury. As the first of its kind in TRNC and Turkey Law Faculties, this application allows our students to develop their ability to conduct scientific research and obtain results. In addition, our faculty participates in the National Internship Program prepared by the Republic of Turkey to provide Turkish students with internship opportunities during the summer months of their education. An optional internship program for our foreign and TRNC students is also arranged during these months.
