Champion CIU Womens Handball Team

Cyprus International University (CIU) Women's Handball Team has signed off the 2020 year as the season’s favorite team.

The KTSYD Handball Cup final that was hosted at the Sports Complex CIU Arena and organized by the TRNC Handball Federation and the Cyprus Turkish Sports Writers Association (KTSYD), was completed with the final match played in the women's category.

With the qualifying match held on Friday and the semi-finals held on Saturday, CIU and DIGEM faced each other in the final cup match. In the match that was organized at the CIU Arena, CIU was ahead 13 - 7 during the first half and became the champion by winning the fight 26 -20.

Winning the “UHL Sports Player of the Match” award was the CIU goalkeeper Lamija Borcak, for her performance in the final match.

At the award ceremony held after the final, commemorative plaques were presented to the referees who worked in the competition, with medals and cups presented to the second-place winners DIGEM and cup champion CIU, presented by KTSYD President Burhan Gürkan, Handball Federation President Bahadır Ayhan and KTSYD Board Members.
