CIU Accepted as a Member of the Turkish Universities Union

Cyprus International University (CIU), as part of its efforts to expand international collaborations, has been accepted as a member of the Turkish Universities Union (TÜRKÜNİB), which is affiliated with the Organization of Turkic States. The 8th General Assembly Meeting of the Union was held in Tashkent, with representatives from numerous universities of member countries participating, and CIU's membership was unanimously approved.

Founded in 2013, the Turkish Universities Union aims to develop academic cooperation in higher education among member countries. The Union continues its work as a platform supporting symposiums, academic events, cultural and scientific activities, and student mobility.

With this membership, CIU aims to increase collaboration with universities in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Hungary, participate more actively in student and staff exchange programs, and offer the opportunities provided by the Orhun Student Exchange Program to its students.

CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Erbuğ Çelebi stated that CIU will continue its efforts to diversify international collaborations, increase student and academic mobility, and develop joint projects with partner universities in different countries. He also expressed that this membership will contribute to their vision of establishing stronger academic ties with the Turkic world.
