CIU Achieves Significant Success in the THE 2026 Subject Rankings
Cyprus International University (CIU) continues to strengthen its international standing with the results it achieved in the 2026 World University Subject Rankings announced by Times Higher Education (THE), one of the world’s most prestigious higher education ranking organizations.
In the THE 2026 World University Overall Rankings, CIU was placed in the 601–800 band. In the subject-based rankings, the university ranked in the 301–400 band in both Business and Economics and Social Sciences, thereby confirming the international recognition of its academic productivity in these disciplines. The 601–800 band ranking in Engineering demonstrated that CIU has maintained its position in this field.
Commenting on the results, CIU Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asil Azimli stated that the achievements in the subject-based rankings reflect the university’s consistent approach to education and research. Azimli said: “These rankings are the result of comprehensive evaluations conducted in line with criteria such as educational quality, research outputs, international collaborations, and academic impact. The results demonstrate that Cyprus International University continues to strengthen its position in global higher education through its student-centered educational approach, qualified academic staff, and innovative vision.”
