The CIU Faculty of Pharmacy is awaiting the future pharmacists

Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Pharmacy, with its Double Diploma opportunity, is awaiting future pharmacists during the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

CIU Faculty of Pharmacy Dean, Prof. Dr. Yasemin Yazan, explaining that within the scope of the cooperation signed with the University of Rome Tor Vergata Faculty of Pharmacy in Italy, they have brought to life the double diploma practice, she continued, “Due to this, after the first 3-years of education-training in the CIU Faculty of Pharmacy, our students complete their remaining 2-year education at the University of Rome Tor Vergata campus”.

Advising that within the faculty there is the 5-year Mpharm and 6-year PharmD programs, Yazan went on to say, “While the first 5-years of the PharmD Program runs parallel to the Mpharm program, during its 6th year there are courses that are practical-intense and courses that have training content.

Reminding that the programs obtain the accreditation of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, Prof. Dr. Yazan also stated that they are a member of the European Pharmaceutical Students Association, where they have an official voting right.

Adding that in addition to the courses that are presented by the expert educational team, during their final year the students each prepare a graduation project under the supervision of the educational team, Yazan explained that in this way, the students have the opportunity to concentrate on the branches that they prefer.

Informing that the education language in all of the pharmaceutical programs is in English, Yazan went on to state, “We are raising our students to obtain an international perspective, with the ability to capture the opportunity to work all over the world when they graduate”.

Noting that they aim to raise students who follow scientific developments closely, Yazan elaborated, “The Pharmacists who have graduated from our faculty are practicing their profession as pharmacists who prioritize patient health and interest, have ethical values, and carry out their profession in a manner that is intertwined with science”.

Adding to her statement that there is a Drug Counseling Center within the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Yazan informed that the center in question provides free online consultancy services to the public, and in this context, they answer client's questions in relation to drug interaction, side effects, and other drug-related issues.
