The CIU Faculty of Pharmacy student’s projects have been transformed into an exhibition
The Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Pharmacy students, presented their graduation projects at an exhibition set up at the Science and Technology Center.
CIU Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. Yasemin Yazan, stated that the Faculty of Pharmacy views public health and awareness as its top priority, and explained that it is a faculty that provides education in light of new scientific developments in the field of medicine and pharmacy. Drawing attention to the fact that via the internationally accepted academic environment in education and research that is provided, they aim to raise students with scientific and social responsibility, that are equipped with a critical thinking structure, that are egalitarian, ethical, democratic and that are secular, and who can provide the pharmacy service. Yazan also expressed that via the aforementioned projects, the graduates are prepared for their professional lives.
Explaining that the graduating students from the Faculty of Pharmacy had to present their projects that they have been preparing for the last two semesters in poster form, Yazan went on to say, “The presentations were not only visual, but were verbally explained and were evaluated by the jury that is made up by academic staff from the faculty”.
Prof. Dr. Yazan stated that the graduation projects were evaluated in terms of content, design, presentation and suitability in terms of the purpose of the project, and added that following the evaluation, the necessary grading process was done.
Emphasizing that during the COVID-19 pandemic in particular that has been continuing for the past two years, the importance of pharmacy education and the profession has been understood even more, Yazan expressed her satisfaction with the positive impact that such presentations have upon preparing the graduate students both physically and scientifically.
