CIU Ranks First on the Island in U.S. News Rankings

In the Best Global Universities rankings published by U.S. News & World Report, one of the world’s most respected higher education evaluation organizations, Cyprus International University (CIU) ranked 615th worldwide. U.S. News & World Report, which has been ranking universities in the United States since 1983, published its first global university rankings in 2014.

Ranking first among universities listed across the island, CIU also placed 4th among universities in Türkiye.
CIU achieved a global score of 45.4 and ranked 504th worldwide in the field of Engineering. The U.S. News methodology is based on 13 indicators, primarily including research reputation, publication output, citation impact, and international collaboration, and draws heavily on Clarivate data. In this respect, the ranking is regarded as a direct reflection of measurable research performance.

This result is also consistent with CIU’s position in other international rankings. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, CIU was placed in the 601–800 band, in line with its position in the same organization’s engineering rankings.

Hosting more than 14,000 students from 110 countries, CIU continues its educational and research activities with a commitment to continuous improvement, offering more than 100 undergraduate and graduate programs.
