CIU Students had fun at the paintball tournament
The Student Development and Counseling Center (SDCC) affiliated to the Office that coordinates Social Activities and Student Clubs of Cyprus International University (CIU) organized a Paintball Tournament between the Student Council and Clubs Union.
Social Activities and Clubs Coordinator Selen Akün Kalaycı stated that the clubs union was established recently for the first time in the university, and noted that the purpose of the Paintball Tournament was to ensure effective communication between the student council and the clubs union.
Kalaycı expressed that they wanted to raise curiosity among students who are not yet members of the student council and the clubs union, and added that there is a club suitable for every student on campus, and their aim is to make the students be actively involved in these clubs.
Stating that they will continue to organize such events in order to familiarize the students with the student council and clubs union and make these be more conspicuous, Kalaycı said, “Moreover, the final exams are approaching. We wanted our students to be fully motivated before the exams and to maximize their focus on their studies.”
Kalaycı said the clubs union consists of all club presidents, and that the presidents also have a president and vice president, and that each student in the student council has responsibilities and will perform the duties assigned to him/her.
Student Council President Ceren Çeliker and Clubs Union President Tadiwa Marlene Taaziva stated that the tournament was a good event for cohesion and said, "We are happy that the team spirit won among the students in the tournament where Clubs Union beat the Student Council 2-1."
