Indicating that the women's rights situation in our country is not very bright, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Külahçı went on to say, “visually, women's visibility within society and their participation in social activities create the misconception that women's rights are not violated.
From a legal perspective however, without the guarantee of the state, it seems very difficult for women to maintain an equal existence with men both in the business world and in their families.”

Conveying that the effects of the patriarchal structure are being experienced, Külahçı elaborated, "we are so absorbed in this structure, that women are criticized by men and other family members, should they fail in their roles that are bestowed upon them by the social mindset”.

Women's rights violations occur due to patriarchy

Emphasizing that the presence of women in the business world, having the same rights as men, and work promotions on an equal par to men are prevented due the patriarchal system, Külahçı stated that “the possibility of a woman marrying and giving birth to a child is perceived as a situation that will interrupt her business life”.

Expressing that this situation is actually a violation of human rights, Külahçı stated that in order for such violations to be prevented, provisions that protect women and ensure positive discrimination should be included in the Constitution and other laws. Thus, rights that are not provided by society, will be by the State”.

Reminding that even in these days as we approach the end of 2020, it is not possible for women to obtain a place within society without the guarantee of the State, “Our goal is to ensure that women and men have equal rights by developing awareness of an ideal society. It is important to provide the necessary education starting with our children, to ensure gender equality” concluded  Külahçı.
