First aid program given to academic, administrative, and service personnel, and the students at CIU

Speaking at the seminar that was organized at the CIU Çevik Uraz Center Conference Hall, Health Sciences Vocation School Director Prof. Dr. Salih Angın, pointed to the importance of arriving quickly to the scene, quick decision making, and intervention, in the correct order, in the event of cases requiring first and emergency responses.

Advising that paramedics have important duties, especially in the case of traffic accidents, Angın added that it is for this reason that paramedics go through a very special process of education.

At the seminar that was provided by Health Sciences Vocational School Academic Staff Kadir Çekiç, Academic Staff Elif İlkhan Kılıç and Academic Staff Aziz Aslanoğlu, information was shared especially in relation to what can be done on the subject of first aid.

At the event that was explained via the means of videos in relation to what interventions should be carried out if any first aid situation may be faced, the interventions that should be carried out in the event of a foreign object getting stuck in a child’s throat, trauma experienced by adults, accidents, or heart attacks, was explained in order, thus informing the attendees.

In his speech during the seminar, Kadir Çekiç defined first aid as eradicating the threat of life in the case of an accident or a situation that puts life in danger, in the absence of medication or equipment, and went on to say, “When it comes to first aid, first of all, a safe area within the framework of protection should be established”.

Health Sciences Vocational School Academic Staff Elif İlkhan Kılıç advised that the correct intervention in first aid carries vital importance, and continued, “If you do not know what to do, you should definitely not try and help the individual”.

Within his speech, drawing attention to the fact that in the event of an accident, instead of waiting for someone else to call an ambulance, you should immediately call 112, Academic Staff Aziz Aslanoğlu went on to state, “It is important to observe and inspect the crime scene, and remove any dangers from the crime scene that may be the cause of a second accident”.
