The four different international conferences that are being hosted by CIU, have begun

The 4 separate conferences being organized by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK), Cyprus International University (CIU), and Istanbul-Cerrahpaşa University, and that are being hosted by CIU, have begun.

During the opening ceremony of the event, YÖKAK President, Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation, and Coordination Board (YÖDAK) President Prof. Dr. Turgay Avcı, and CIU Rector, Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri, each made a speech.

During his speech at the opening ceremony, YÖKAK President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas made statements in relation to the future of higher education, and the subjects of quality and accreditation in higher education. Explaining that as YÖKAK, they aim to be a council that is in harmony with the world, taking into account country conditions, while being a flexible and dynamic quality council, Elmas added that the council have performed inspections upon higher education institutions and their programs.

When it comes to the speech of YÖDAK President, Prof. Dr. Avcı gave information in relation to the inspections, accreditations, coordination, and planning efforts towards higher education institutions that has been performed by YÖDAK, stating that there are currently 21 active universities in North Cyprus. Drawing attention to the fact that for a small country, North Cyprus has 100 thousand students from different countries in the field of higher education, Avcı advised that this situation is an important cultural wealth for the country.

In his speech during the opening ceremony, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri expressed his satisfaction in relation to hosting such an important event, and went on to draw attention to the contributions that will be made to the fields of science, technology, and the efforts being made on the subject of distance learning, during the two consecutive days of conferences. Stating that learning is a lifelong process, Nadiri added that they felt pride in their contribution to this, as a higher education institution.

The congress that will feature the subjects of International Science and Technology, International Teacher Training, International Communications-Media, and Quality in International Higher Education, will also feature expert invited speakers, special sessions, and workshops. The papers that will be presented at the conferences will be published in book reports and academic journals.
