Drawing attention to the importance of practice in legal education during his speech at the seminar, Prof. Dr. Tunç noted that legal education does not only consist of mere doctrines or the reading of books.

Expressing that education is a field that develops with practice, Tunç went on to say, "In actual fact, it has become apparent that practice is an area that is more important than faculty education".

During his speech, a member of the 5th Penal Chamber Veli Özdek provided information in relation to the formation of the "Constitutional Court, Court of Cassation, State Council and Courts of Conflict," considered as the supreme body within the Constitution.

Also, present within his speech were explanations in relation to the number of members of the judicial organs, the member election process and their duties, and detailed information in relation to the working structure of the Court of Cassation.

Explaining that when a decision is being taken within the Supreme Court, all the resources on the subject are taken to hand, Özdek continued, “In the formation of Supreme Court case-laws, all the books, doctrines, and theses written on the subject are read and the decision is made accordingly. In the past, the aim of Criminal Law was tit-for-tat, however now in modern law, the aim is not punishment, but correction".

Underlining the contribution of young lawyers to the field, Özdek concluded, “We read the journals of our teachers and our young lawyers. All of them give us light. The development and advancement of law occur in this way, otherwise it would have been static”.
