Dr. Nadiri noted that pharmacy students embark on a career journey in a very difficult field, adding “As in every road to success, you will encounter difficulties in your career journey; in your profession, which is based on selflessness, your motivation may decrease at certain times, but you should never give up.”
Prof. Dr. Nadiri pointed out that thanks to the education students receive, they are prepared for their future careers in the best way, and addressed them saying, “You; as the dynamic, productive and creative new members of the health sector will quickly climb the career ladder and thus will make us feel proud of you just as your families would.”
CIU Dean of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Yasemin Yazan, on the other hand, noted that knowledge is deemed worthless unless it is shared, and said, “As the faculty, we tried to share scientific and even general information with all of you. We have endeavored to answer your questions and solve your problems. Now it's your turn to create your own boundless thinking system and solve any problems you may encounter as you step into the realities of life.”
Noting that the road to success requires motivation, energy, skills, resilience and vision, Dr. Yazan said: "I believe that you are fully equipped to embrace and advance this world we live in without any discrimination."
Director of Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacy Department, Pharmacist Serap Konde also addressed the students saying that, “At a time when you are all focused on receiving your diplomas, which are the end-product of your studies, you need to know that today is not the end but it is the beginning of your professional life.
Expressing that there are many fields in the pharmacy profession, Konde said, “Maybe you will work in your own pharmacy or in pharmacies in hospitals. Perhaps you will advance academically. However, my advice to you is that no matter what choice you make, you should do your job without deviating from truth and honesty.”
President of the Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association, Pharmacist Dr. Umut Öksüz said he shared in the excitement of the students and graduates, and "I hope you will heal every patient you touch."
Öksüz pointed out that pharmacology is a profession that is constantly developing as does technology and information systems, and for that matter it is important for people in this career field to constantly improve themselves.
Following the speeches, the students performed the white coat ceremony where students took the first steps into their professional life by taking the oath of a pharmacist along with Dean Prof. Dr. Yasemin Yazan of CIU Faculty of Pharmacy.
