Öznur Pınar Çer is the recipient of “Europe 40 under 40” award
Öznur Pınar Çer who graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture of Cyprus International University (CIU) in 2014 has been the winner of "Europe 40 under 40" award.
CIU GSTMF graduate Öznur Pınar Çer, winner of the "Europe 40 under 40" award which recognizes the 40 most successful architects and designers under the age of 40 in Europe, is also the founder, co-founder and chief architect of MASK Architects firm.
“Europe 40 Under 40” awards are presented annually by The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design to encourage the new generation that will shed light on the near future of world architecture and design. It is given to architects, landscape architects, interior designers and designers. Among the winners of the award, which recognizes the 40 most successful architects and designers under the age of 40, this year was Öznur Pınar Çer.
Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture Prof. Dr. Cemil Atakara said they were very proud of the achievement of one of their former graduates, and added “The international recognition of our students and graduates reflects the quality of our faculty and our understanding of education. Such achievements inspire us as a faculty and motivate future generations to aim for similar accomplishments."
Stating that the success of CIU graduate Çer is directly related to the quality of education the university offers, Atakara said, “FFADA not only ensures students become knowledgeable in their field of study, but also encourages them to think innovatively while equipping them with the necessary skills to become pioneers in the market. Such international achievements of our students are concrete evidence that supports the vision and mission of our faculty and university."
Atakara pointed out the importance of the award-winning successes of particularly the FFADA students and generally speaking the faculty at international platforms, and concluded by saying, "We hope that our university and faculty will achieve even greater success in the international arena, and we look forward to new opportunities that will entail new successes to carry our students to the next level."
