The powerful women of the world of Covid-19, will be discussed at CIU

Cyprus International University, Women and Gender Studies Research Center (WGSRC) is organizing an online seminar series on the subject “Women in Leadership: The Powerful Women of the World of Covid-19” for 8th March, International Women's Day.

Reminding that the United Nations Women Unit will carry out the 8th March International Women's Day activities upon the theme "Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in the Covid-19 world" WGSRC President Assist. Prof. Dr.  Mihrican Aylanç stated that within the framework of this theme, they also aim to support the organized activities.

Aylanç stated that their aim is to highlight the self-sacrificing efforts of women in the combat against the Covid-19 epidemic, and went on to state, "As with the rest of the world, we strive to create a future where equality prevails for women and girls in our country”.

“Despite their being the disadvantaged group in this process, we are putting our women on the agenda by demonstrating the power of women, who worked in the fight against Covid-19, and who lead the society” expressed Assist. Prof. Dr. Aylanç.

Stating that the seminars are to be held online via the Zoom program, Aylanç advised that the moderator of the event will be WGSRC Executive Board Member Assist. Prof. Dr. Ender Volkan, who conducted scientific studies on Covid-19.

Mihrican Aylanç informed that the first session of the event will be held on 8th March 2021, between 10.00-11.00, and advised that the guests at the session are to be the Supreme Court Judge - Ombudsman Emine Dizdarlı and Chief Medical Advisor to the President, Prof. Dr. Nedime Serakıncı.

During the second session, which is to start at 15.00 and continue until 16.30, the President of the Cyprus Turkish Medical Association, Dr. Özlem Gürkut, Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialist Dr. Nesil Bayraktar and Chest and Chest Diseases Specialist Dr. Emine Kamiloğlu are to be hosted advised Aylanç, who also informed that the event can be followed at https://zoom.us/j/99193158525?pwd=R2xRNG9uMTNmVlBia2t6VlZ6Q1hqZz09.
