Pros of 4.5G Network
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tulgar gave some information about 4.5G mobile web services that will be made available in the country
Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Engineering Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tamer Tulgar made statements about 4.5G, which will soon be available in the TRNC, and explained the contributions of 4.5G to the field of communication.
Based on the statement made by the TRNC Ministry of Public Works and Transport that gave the 4.5G authorization document to the company that won the tender, Tulgar said that completion of the delivery of 4.5G will expand over a period of 10 months before the service is available to the users in the TRNC.
Stating that 4.5G is between the fourth generation and the fifth generation, Tulgar said, “4.5G is a mobile network technology called LTE-Advanced developed to provide high data transfer rates and low latency times.”
Tulgar said that it can provide data transfer rate approximately 2 times higher than 4G and approximately 10 times higher than 3G, and added, “It is foreseen that it will provide serious advantages in transfer of high speed and low latency transmission of especially large files (data, video, music, photos, etc.).”
Tulgar pointed that theoretically, 4.5G technology may reach much higher maximum speeds depending on the categories of mobile devices and operator infrastructure compatible with the relevant technology but considering the ongoing 4.5G usage experiences in the world, data transfer rates in the range of 100 Mbps - 300 Mbps are available to users.
Based on the user experiences in various countries using 4.5G around the world, Tulgar said that using a high-speed data connection prompted users to use more data and it is expected that there will be an increase in the tendency to use high data rates and upgrade data plans.
Tulgar stated that, considering the different frequencies that 4.5G uses to reach high speeds, along with more frequent and continuous high-speed data use, 4.5G is likely to cause faster battery consumption.
