Significant Achievement of CIU Faculty of Pharmacy
Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Pharmacy, within the scope of international collaborative partnerships, has been granted Academic Institutional Membership (FIP-AIM) by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP)
CIU Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aslan noted that 172 Faculties of Pharmacy from 56 countries are members of the International Pharmaceutical Federation, and that it is "a truly global organization with more than 4 million members".
Aslan pointed out that FIP is a non-governmental organization that has been in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) since 1948, and added FIP-AIM is an organization that contributes to the development of pharmacy education by connecting Faculties of Pharmacy on a global platform.
Aslan also noted that in addition to improving the academic structure, the Federation undertakes the mission of developing a worldwide network and promoting cooperation between faculties.
Noting that with this membership, CIU Faculty of Pharmacy succeeded in being included in the list of World Faculties of Pharmacy, Aslan said, "We have gained the advantage of participating in globally managed projects with academic leaders from all over the world to shape pharmacy practices, pharmacy science and pharmacy education."
Thanks to this cooperation, there will be a significant contribution to the improvement of the standards of education the CIU Faculty of Pharmacy offers; this collaboration will lead to opening new programs in coordination with world pharmacy education programs and also contribute to the the recognition of the CIU graduates in the world. Aslan stated that with this membership, the students of the CIU Faculty of Pharmacy will be the professional health workers of the future.
