Visual Arts Design students of CIU continue to meet with experts from the sector
At an event organized by the Cyprus International University (CIU) Faculty of Communications Visual Arts Design Department, technology advisor Barış Parlan spoke about digitalization, which has taken an important place in our world today, and the developments that have run parallel to it.
During the talk titled “The Future of Digital Nomad Workspaces for the Visual Communicator” organized for the future visual communicators, Parlan presented different perspectives via the means of different applications.
Giving information in relation to visual storytelling during the first part of the talk, Barış Parlan underlined the fact that the most basic equipment of Visual Arts Design students is a piece of paper and a pencil.
During his speech, Parlan explained that it is important for the students to archive their old works, and went on to say, “As well as this, investing in technology is an absolutely necessary element for future visual communicators and designers”,
Providing a number of application suggestions to the students that they can use during their design process, Parlan pointed to the importance of following the latest technology.
Referring to the digital nomads during the second part of his speech, Parlan stated that since the age of digital education, that the environment of digital cooperation has gained an increasing momentum, which has taken a place in our lives and that will continue to have a place in our lives.
Advising that with digital cooperation’s any boundaries will be eliminated, Parlan expressed his belief that we will see an increase in production and efficiency.
Drawing attention to the fact that the recent focus of attention; artificial intelligence and its applications, will become a means of expression for the future designers and visual communicators, Parlan reminded that digitalization already brings with it a whole host of problems in terms of security and workload.
Expressing that the solutions to the problems in question can be found again via the means of the digital environment, technology expert Parlan added that digitalization will grow exponentially in the years ahead, and that digital works will take the place of physical work.
Pointing to the importance of the students coming together with names from the sector, Department of Visual Arts Design academic staff Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dilan Çiftçi informed that the feedback from the students in relation to the event were positive, and that she will continue to be aware of the student’s feedback with similar events.
